Wholesale and Custom Moulding Manufacturer

As a wholesale custom moulding manufacturer, Rex Lumber offers a wide range of stock and custom moulding options. We provide nearly limitless customization capabilities to support a variety of project requirements.

Custom wholesale mouldings need to fit both the functional and design goals of a project. As a millwork company, we work closely with customers to produce moulding solutions that match their exact specifications. The right moulding should perform reliably, complement the overall design, and help create a polished finished product.

Leading Wholesale Moulding Manufacturer

Rex Lumber has been a leading moulding manufacturer since our first moulder was installed in 1956.  Today we operate 10 moulders across the company, each equipped to support a wide range of custom millwork applications and production requirements.

Our capabilities include high-speed machines designed to handle production runs exceeding 5,000 linear feet, along with equipment capable of producing mouldings up to 11-1/2” wide. Each year, Rex Lumber manufactures more than 20,000,000 LFof mouldings for customers across a variety of industries and project types.

Custom Moulding Process

Producing a custom moulding starts with preparing a blank to the correct dimensions. First, the material is ripped and surfaced to a standard size that measures at least 1/8” wider and 3/16” thicker than the finished profile.

Next, the blank moves through the moulder, where the profile is cut using four to seven moulder heads. Most of our moulders include two heads on the top, two on the bottom, one on the left side, and one or two on the right side. Each head holds at least two knives, either straight knives or custom-ground profile knives designed for the specific moulding pattern.

Rex Lumber also offers additional value-added services, including Priming, Profile Sanding, and Custom Finishing. Custom finishing is available for both wholesale and custom mouldings.

Mouldings of Almost Every Profile Provided

As a trusted moulding manufacturer, Rex Lumber produces wholesale custom mouldings  in nearly every shape, size, and profile imaginable. Whether a project requires panel moulding, crown moulding, or another custom style, our team can manufacture a profile that fits the application and design intent.

We can work from a historic sample, sketch, tracing, CAD drawing, or an entirely new concept to create a truly custom moulding profile. Using our CAD system, we create, duplicate, and match profiles with precision and consistency.

For cost-sensitive projects, Rex Lumber also offers more than 1,100 existing custom moulding profiles through our online moulding catalog. Customers can browse, search, and download profile drawings to compare options and identify the best fit for their project specifications.

Once you’ve selected a stock or custom profile, our Quick Quote form makes it easy to connect with our team to discuss pricing, lead times, and additional customization options.

Want to Create a Stock Moulding Program?

Rex Lumber Company can also help customers develop stock moulding programs that include a wide range of profile options. Our extensive inventory includes domestic hardwoods, tropical hardwoods, and softwoods, many of which are available as FSC® Certified materials.

When we manufacture mouldings from FSC® Certified lumber, the material retains its chain of custody and certification status. These products may also contribute toward LEED point eligibility for qualifying projects.

In addition to traditional lumber species, Rex Lumber can manufacture mouldings from specialty materials such as reclaimed lumber, antique lumber, and MDF.
