At Rex Lumber Company we have the capability to produce both solid and glued-up stair treads in a variety of profiles, thicknesses, widths, and lengths.

The standard sizes available in glued-up Red Oak and White Oak treads are as follows:

These treads are glued-up, clear one face, color matched (no sapwood or mineral), with 3 to 6 staves per piece, and are sanded to 120 grit.

Treads with miter returns on one or both ends are available.

We do stock the following Stair Treads in Red Oak that are pre-run and available for prompt shipment:

• 1-1/16 x 10-1/2 x 36″ Clear Tread
• 1-1/16 x 10-1/2 x 39″ Clear Tread
• 1-1/16 x 10-1/2 x 42″ Clear Tread

A minimum order of 50 pieces of any one size.

These treads are glued-up, clear one face, color matched (no sapwood or mineral), with 3 to 6 staves per piece, and are sanded to 120 grit.

If you stock and use stair treads we can create a stock program to meet your needs.

Other species including treads made from FSC® Certified lumber and reclaimed lumber are available as custom orders and can be run random length or cut to length.

Sanding available on faces available through wide belt sander, edge sanding up to 11-1/2″ is available through the profile sander.

In addition to stair treads we can also provide stair risers in a variety of species, widths or lengths.

Glued up risers are clear one face, color matched (no sapwood or mineral in Red Oak, no dark green/purple in Poplar), and have3 to 4 staves per piece.

White Oak and other species including risers made from FSC® Certified lumber and reclaimed lumber are available as custom orders.

Risers may also be ordered as a lineal foot product that is run from solid lumber, which is not glued up for width.  This material is run product of the grade, and can be random length or cut-to-length.

Sanding on the exposed face is available through our wide belt sander up to 150 grit.

Priming is available through our vacuum coater for paint grade risers

Staining and finishing as well as paint topcoats are available on any riser products
